plans & billing

pngr has three tiers — Free, Pro, and Team — each with its own limits on monitors, seats, status pages, check interval, SMS, and history retention. The exact numbers live on the pricing page and in the app (settings → billing shows your plan, usage, and renewal date); this page covers how billing works.

what a plan limits

Plans cap things like monitors, organization seats, status pages, the minimum check interval, monthly SMS, and how long check history, audit logs, and notification logs are retained. When an action would exceed a cap — adding a monitor past the limit, publishing a status page on Free — the app shows an upgrade prompt explaining which limit you hit and which plan clears it, rather than failing silently.

upgrading and changing plans

  • First purchase (Free → paid): opens a secure checkout overlay to collect a payment method. Your plan flips once payment completes.
  • Changing between paid tiers (Pro ↔ Team): happens in place — no new checkout and no re-entering your card. Your saved card is charged (or credited) the prorated difference for the rest of the current period, and a confirmation shows the exact amount before you commit.
note

Payments are processed by Paddle, our payment provider and merchant of record. pngr never sees or stores your card details — that's why card entry happens in Paddle's secure overlay. Paddle also handles any applicable sales tax or VAT.

managing your subscription

Everything lives under settings → billing (owners and admins only):

  • Renewal date and current usage against your plan's limits.
  • Invoices — your billing history, with downloadable PDF receipts.
  • Update payment method — opens a secure overlay; no card data touches pngr.
  • Cancel — schedules cancellation for the end of the current paid period. You keep your paid features until then, and can resume any time before it takes effect. When it does, the org drops to Free; resources over the Free limits (e.g. extra monitors) are paused, not deleted.

downgrades and the free tier

Cancelling or downgrading never deletes your data. Monitors, channels, and rules beyond the new plan's limits are paused and preserved — upgrade again and they come straight back.
